Zagreb announces major road and tramway infrastructure projects

The City of Zagreb has launched several major infrastructure projects aimed at improving urban mobility and public transport safety. A 1.5 million euro tender has been issued for the reconstruction of the Selska and Horvaćanska road intersection. This project includes establishing a yellow bus lane on Selska street, relocating the ‘Knežija’ tram stop, and reducing the number of lanes on Horvaćanska to create green buffers and bicycle paths.

Additionally, the city has announced a 3.1 million euro project for the repair and renewal of tram tracks across various locations in Zagreb. Scheduled to take place over the next two years, the works will involve replacing damaged concrete slabs, repairing track foundations, and installing track lubrication devices to reduce noise. To minimize disruption, some repairs will be conducted at night, and contractors are required to respond to urgent interventions within 36 hours.
