Zagreb initiates major summer road, tram and utility works

The city of Zagreb has begun a series of intensive summer infrastructure projects, aiming to complete major road, tram, water and gas network upgrades while traffic loads are lower. Mayor Tomislav Tomašević said the summer period allows faster realization of projects and reduced impact on daily life. Key road works include the closure of Vukovarska Street between Ozaljska and Florijan Andrašec from 13 June to early September, reconstruction of the Ljudevit Posavski overpass, and upgrades to the Selska road water and gas lines.

Tram infrastructure is also being overhauled: the Zvonimirova‑Heinzel line will be out of service from 15 June to 7 September, with a temporary bus line 602 covering the affected section, and several tram lines will operate on shortened routes. ZET has introduced a summer timetable affecting more than 30 bus lines, canceling routes 114 and 275 and adjusting service on dozens of others. The changes are communicated through the ZET website and station signage, and traffic diversions are updated on navigation apps.
