Croatia implements major sports and urban infrastructure projects
Major infrastructure investments are underway across several Croatian cities. In Split, Mayor Tomislav Šuta announced over 5.5 million euros in sports funding. Key projects include the renovation of Park Mladeži with a new artificial turf and a covered training hall, as well as nearly 1.9 million euros for HNK Hajduk's auxiliary pitches at Poljud. Additionally, plans are moving forward for a new football academy in Stobreč and a 20 million euro renovation of the Gripe sports center in collaboration with the government.
In Zagreb, construction of the Kranjčevićeva Stadium is progressing, with the roof structure and seating currently being installed. The facility is being built to UEFA Category 4 standards and will serve as a temporary home for Dinamo and Lokomotiva. Meanwhile, the city is moving toward making central pedestrian zones permanent, a move that has faced criticism from local taxi drivers regarding accessibility and logistics.
In Zadar, the Duga kindergarten is undergoing a 1.44 million euro reconstruction to increase capacity by 24 places, funded through the National Recovery and Resilience Plan.
