Urban and sports infrastructure developments in Croatia

Overview

In Split, Mayor Tomislav Šuta announced investments exceeding 5.5 million euros, which includes 20 million euros for the renovation of the Gripe Sports Center. Other local developments include upgrades to the Park Mladeži facility, featuring a new artificial turf and a covered training hall, and nearly 1.9 million euros for HNK Hajduk’s training grounds at Poljud, alongside securing rights for the Hajduk academy in Stobreč.

In Zagreb, construction continues on the new Kranjčevićeva Stadium, with work currently focused on the roof structure and seating to meet UEFA Category 4 standards. The stadium is intended to serve as a temporary home for Dinamo and Lokomotiva. Additionally, the city is proceeding with plans to establish a permanent pedestrian zone in the city center, covering streets such as Masarykova and Gajeva; however, this move has faced criticism from local taxi drivers regarding logistics and accessibility.

In Zadar, the Duga kindergarten is undergoing a 1.44 million euro reconstruction to increase capacity by 24 places, funded through the National Recovery and Resilience Plan.
