Zagreb Stock Exchange sees cautious trading amid corporate earnings season and regional market dips

On Thursday, trading at the Zagreb Stock Exchange was expected to be cautious after the Crobex index fell for a second consecutive day, dropping 0.57% to 4,441 points, while the broader Crobex10 fell 0.48% to 2,865 points. All sector indices declined, led by transport down 1.4%. Total trading value was about €2.2 million, roughly €1.3 million less than the previous session, with a notable block trade of Končar shares worth €2.2 million. Individual movers included Dalekovod, which reported a first‑half net profit of nearly €15 million, and Adris Group, whose privileged shares traded at €110.

Meanwhile, European markets broke record highs. The pan‑European Stoxx 600 rose 0.99% to 656.38 points, with Germany’s DAX up 1% to 25,863, Britain’s FTSE 0.75% higher at 10,976 and France’s CAC 0.99% higher at 8,569. Technology shares led gains, especially Soitec (+7.2%), Infineon (+7%) and ASML (+3.5%). Falling oil prices—Brent slipped over 1% to $88.2 per barrel—also supported market sentiment. Credit Agricole shares climbed 4.5% after posting better‑than‑expected second‑quarter earnings. In Asia, Japan’s Nikkei surged 4% to 64,362, echoing the global appetite for equities during the earnings season.
