Zagreb Stock Exchange sees weekly gains led by tourism sector

The Zagreb Stock Exchange experienced fluctuating performance over recent sessions. On Thursday, the Crobex index fell by 0.51 percent to 4,391 points, and the Crobex10 dropped 0.56 percent to 2,835 points. During this session, the tourism sector saw a decline of 1.26 percent, while the transport sector rose by 1.25 percent. Končar remained a highly liquid stock with a turnover of 503,000 euros.

By Friday, the market trend reversed, with the Crobex index rising 0.87 percent to 4,430 points and the Crobex10 increasing 1.15 percent to 2,868 points, allowing the week to end in positive territory. The tourism sector led the gains with a 1.31 percent increase. Končar again saw significant activity, with a turnover of nearly 340,000 euros and a price increase of 2.38 percent.

Macroeconomic data from the Croatian Bureau of Statistics indicates a slowdown in GDP growth, which rose by 1.7 percent in the second quarter compared to the previous year, down from 2.2 percent in the first quarter. However, retail consumption showed acceleration, with real consumption increasing by 1.4 percent in July compared to the previous month and 3.6 percent compared to July of the previous year.
