Zagreb Stock Exchange stabilizes as investors await GDP data
The Zagreb Stock Exchange has seen periods of stabilization for the CROBEX index, though trading activity has fluctuated. In recent sessions, the CROBEX index remained steady at approximately 4,407 to 4,414 points, while the CROBEX10 saw marginal increases. Trading volume has experienced volatility, at times dropping below one million euros.
Market activity remains heavily concentrated in the Končar Group, which continues to provide the majority of liquidity on the domestic market. Other notable movements include gains for Žito and Podravka, while stocks such as CIAK Grupa and Luka Rijeka experienced price declines.
Investors are currently awaiting economic data from the Croatian Bureau of Statistics (DZS) regarding Gross Domestic Product (GDP) for the second quarter. Economic forecasts suggest a potential growth rate of 1.8% on an annual basis, which would represent a slowdown from the 2.2% growth recorded in the first quarter. If these projections hold, it would mark the 22nd consecutive quarter of economic growth, albeit at the slowest pace since the post-pandemic recovery began in early 2021.
