Zagreb University Dean bans communist student gathering

Domagoj Tončinić, the Dean of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences at the University of Zagreb, has prohibited a planned event promoting communist ideology and revolution. The gathering was organized by the student club and the Revolutionary Communist League (RKS) and was scheduled to take place on October 21.

In a statement, the Dean emphasized that while the Faculty remains a space for freedom of thought and radical political ideas, it should not serve as a platform for political recruitment or the organization of revolutionary movements. The administration cited a lack of requested information from organizers and expressed concerns regarding the legality of the event, the use of faculty premises, and the safety of those present.
