Zahir Cız killed in armed attack in Adana

Zahir Cız, a prominent jeweler and chairman of Cız Group, was killed in an armed attack in the Reşatbey neighborhood of Adana's Seyhan district on Sunday, October 4, 2026. The attack occurred around 2:00 PM while Cız was conversing with Hüseyin Altunbulduk in front of his business.

Unidentified assailants opened fire with approximately 7 to 8 shots. Cız sustained heavy injuries to his head and body and passed away at Medical Park Hospital despite medical intervention. Altunbulduk was also wounded in the abdomen and remains under treatment at Adana City Hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Police investigations are focusing on potential links to organized crime. There are suspicions involving the “Baygaralar” crime group following reports of a leaked FaceTime call in which Fırat Çelik, an alleged member of the group, was seen threatening Cız. Authorities are working to identify the perpetrators and determine if the assassination is connected to existing tensions between local criminal organizations.
