Zakrzówek swimming pool caps daily visitors at 300 amid soaring crowds

The municipal swimming pool at Zakrzówek in Kraków has introduced a strict limit of 300 visitors per day because of a low water level that reduces safety margins. The limit was reached before 08:00 a.m., with queues forming as early as 07:00 a.m. on both Saturday and Sunday. Authorities warned that the reduced water level means the pool’s structure cannot accommodate the usual crowd size. Later, the manager further halved the daily admission limit to improve safety, prompting even longer waiting times for the remaining visitors.

The popular venue, often dubbed the "Polish Maldives," opened in 2023 and attracts large numbers of tourists. Local officials have considered charging admission to manage demand, but the plan has not been implemented. The current restrictions aim to ensure safe swimming conditions while the water level recovers.
