Zalo and Messenger Users Urged to Verify Recipients Before Sending Photos

Experts advise users of Zalo and Messenger to carefully check the recipient’s name, avatar and chat before sending images, especially those containing personal or confidential information. Mistakes can expose private documents, account numbers or QR codes, as photos can be saved, screenshotted or forwarded by the receiver.

The guidance also warns that unsending a message does not guarantee the image’s removal, urging senders to act quickly to request deletion if a photo is sent in error. Users should limit sharing to trusted contacts, avoid large group chats for private content, and consider cropping or obscuring unnecessary details before sending.
