Zamfara State launches initiative to vaccinate 80,772 zero-dose children

The Sultan Foundation for Peace and Development has launched the “Zamfara Tracking and Accountability for Equitable Immunization (Z-TRACE) Project” to vaccinate 80,772 zero-dose children in Zamfara State, Nigeria.

Funded by Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance, through the Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) Fund Mechanism managed by MannionDaniels, the initiative targets seven priority local government areas: Gusau, Talata Mafara, Shinkafi, Zurmi, Anka, Bakura, and Tsafe. The project aims to address approximately 30 per cent of the state’s estimated 269,241 zero-dose children.

The intervention will utilize community mapping, equity intelligence, and networks of Community-Based Organisations to reach underserved settlements. Seven local organizations have been engaged to coordinate grassroots implementation across the targeted regions.
