Zandvoort to host final Formula 1 Grand Prix in 2026

The Formula 1 calendar is set to lose the Dutch Grand Prix at Zandvoort, as the contract for the event has not been extended. Max Verstappen, the Red Bull driver, noted that while the Grand Prix is ending, the circuit will remain active for other motorsport categories and testing sessions.

To maintain the connection with his supporters, Verstappen suggested organizing demonstration days to recreate the atmosphere of the ‘orange fever’ seen at previous races.

The final visit to the circuit, scheduled for 2026, will feature a Sprint weekend format. This combination of a narrow, banked track and the Sprint schedule is expected to create significant strategic challenges. Teams will face high uncertainty regarding tyre degradation and management due to the relentless nature of the corners, the influence of North Sea weather, and limited practice time to gather data.
