Zapotlanejo flooding affects at least 46 homes in Jalisco

Intense storms occurring between Saturday night and Sunday morning, September 20, caused the Arroyo Zapotlanejo to overflow, leading to significant flooding in the municipality of Zapotlanejo, Jalisco.

Preliminary reports from the Jalisco State Civil Protection and Firefighters Unit indicate that at least 46 homes have been affected. Water entered residential areas and businesses in sectors such as Bellavista, Ciudad Perdida, La Cantera, and El Plan. In some locations, water levels reportedly exceeded one meter in height.

Emergency services and municipal authorities have established a joint Command Post to coordinate rescue, cleaning, and damage assessment operations. While streets and properties have been inundated, authorities have not reported any deaths, injuries, or missing persons as of the latest updates. Cleanup efforts are currently underway to restore mobility to affected roadways.
