Zaragoza industrial park fire destroys multiple warehouses
A major fire broke out on Thursday morning at the Cogullada industrial park near Zaragoza, Spain. The blaze originated in a bazaar on Jaime Ferrán Street and has affected three warehouses, two of which have been completely consumed by flames.
The fire produced a massive column of black smoke visible from various points across the city, prompting local authorities to issue precautionary measures. Residents and nearby schools, including the Lucien de Briet school, were advised to keep windows closed to avoid smoke exposure.
Emergency services, including 15 firefighters and multiple specialized vehicles, responded to the 11:50 AM alert. While the fire is currently contained within a perimeter, officials stated that extinction efforts could last for several hours. Although a nearby chemical factory and a scrap yard were initially feared to be at risk, authorities confirmed there is no immediate danger of the fire spreading to other businesses. No injuries have been reported, and workers were able to evacuate the affected buildings safely.
