Industrial fires in Spain

Overview

In late August 2026, two separate industrial fires were reported in Spain. The first occurred in Cocentaina at a textile factory and in Fuente el Saz del Jarama at an audiovisual production warehouse. In the latter case, firefighters faced challenges due to the high volume of combustible materials, though no injuries were reported.

On September 24, a major fire broke out at the Cogullada industrial park near Zaragoza. The blaze originated in a bazaar and destroyed or heavily damaged three warehouses. The fire produced a massive column of black smoke, leading authorities to advise nearby residents and schools to keep windows closed. Emergency services contained the fire within a perimeter, and no injuries were reported.
