Zławieś Wielka water supply contaminated with coli bacteria

Health inspectors in the Toruń region have detected coli group bacteria in the water supply for the Zławieś Wielka municipality. Laboratory tests showed levels ranging from 35 to 50 jtk/100 ml, exceeding the permitted limit of 0 jtk/100 ml.

The contamination affects six villages: Błotka, Czegielnik, Górsk, Przysiek, Rozgarty, and Stary Toruń. Residents are advised that the water is not safe for drinking, preparing food, washing dishes, brushing teeth, or washing food products. Using the water for bathing or showering is also considered risky.

Local authorities have arranged for water tankers to provide clean water to residents while the Municipal Services Department in Rzęczków works to identify the source of the contamination and restore water quality. The water will only be deemed safe for consumption and hygiene once confirmed by sanitary services.
