Zbrojovka Brno faces potential concession cancellation over land sale

A dispute regarding the sale of land in Brno's Lužánky area has reached a critical stage involving the Zbrojovka football club. A revised expert assessment has valued the land at 227 million CZK, which, after deducting demolition costs, results in a final amount of 49 million CZK. This figure is significantly closer to Zbrojovka’s original offer than the 210 million CZK previously demanded by the city.

Despite the potential agreement on price, legal complications remain. Zbrojovka has noted that because the concession proceedings are ongoing, they cannot legally alter the parameters of their initial offer. The club has stated that the decision now rests with the city, which must either vote on the current offer or cancel the concession proceedings entirely. Brno officials are considering canceling the current process and launching a new tender to resolve the impasse through a strictly legal framework.
