ZDF and ProSiebenSat.1 Expand Streaming Partnership to Joyn
Germany's public broadcaster ZDF and private media group ProSiebenSat.1 have signed an agreement to make selected ZDF on‑demand content available on the Joyn streaming platform. The partnership will include news, documentaries, cultural, factual and entertainment programs, with the content offered free of charge and without ads. Both parties say the deal will improve the visibility of public‑service journalism in the digital space while preserving ZDF’s editorial control.
The operational launch is scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2026. ZDF Audience Director Florian Kumb described the move as a "strong, future‑oriented signal" for the dual media system, and ProSiebenSat.1 manager Nicole Agudo Berbel highlighted its role in strengthening German media offerings against international platforms such as Netflix and YouTube.
