ZDF to Air Documentary on Late Biathlon Champion Laura Dahlmeier

Laura Dahlmeier, two‑time Olympic biathlon champion and seven‑time world champion, died on 28 July 2025 after a rock‑fall while descending Laila Peak in Pakistan’s Karakorum range. One year after her death, her family issued a brief statement and reflected on her legacy.

German public‑service broadcaster ZDF announced a 90‑minute documentary titled “Laura” that will chronicle Dahlmeier’s sporting achievements, her passion for mountain climbing, and her post‑retirement work as a TV expert. The film is being produced by Gruppe 5 Filmproduktion GmbH (majority‑owned by ZDF Studios), with shooting at multiple locations and interviews from friends, teammates and former colleagues. The documentary is slated for a winter broadcast, though a specific air date has not yet been set.
