München Mord gets new chief Eva Karl Faltermeier as series continues after Alexander Held's death
Cabaret artist and actress Eva Karl Faltermeier, 43, will join ZDF’s long‑running crime series “München Mord” as Kriminaloberrätin Dr. Linda Hösl, becoming the new head of the investigative team. She replaces Christoph Süß, who left the role of Kriminaloberrat Helmut Zangel for private reasons. Two episodes featuring Faltermeier have already been filmed, with the first scheduled to broadcast on 22 August 2026 and further filming planned for the autumn.
The series will also continue after the death of actor Alexander Held (67), who portrayed Kommissar Ludwig Schaller. Held died in May 2026; his final two appearances will air in the pre‑last episode on 22 August 2026 and a concluding episode later in the year. ZDF confirmed that “München Mord” will proceed with the remaining cast, including Angelika Flierl (Bernadette Heerwagen) and Harald Neuhauser (Marcus Mitterhauser).
