Zeekr introduces extended warranty and logistics strategy in Germany

Zeekr, a subsidiary of Geely, is implementing a new warranty strategy to address consumer concerns regarding service and resale value in the German electric vehicle market. The company offers a standard vehicle warranty of 5 years or 100,000 kilometers. By adhering to specific maintenance intervals at official partner workshops, customers can extend this coverage to 10 years or 200,000 kilometers. Additionally, the battery includes an 8-year or 200,000-kilometer warranty ensuring at least 70 percent capacity.

To support its European operations, Zeekr utilizes a central spare parts warehouse in Amsterdam, aiming to deliver 80 percent of parts within four to five business days. The company is also expanding its network to over 100 certified service partner locations in Germany. Notably, both the warranty and Zeekr Care service plans are transferable to subsequent owners, which is intended to bolster resale values.

In contrast, recent testing of the Geely E5 model has highlighted technical challenges. While the mid-range SUV offers high comfort features, its charging performance has been described as disappointing. Tests indicated that charging from 10 to 80 percent takes over 30 minutes, with an average charging rate falling below 100 kW. Some reports also noted instances where the charging process was interrupted unexpectedly.
