Netherlands announces €500 million military aid package for Ukraine

Dutch Prime Minister Rob Jetten has announced a new €500 million military aid package for Ukraine, specifically designed as a 'winter package' to bolster air defense and drone capabilities. The announcement was made during a press conference in The Hague alongside Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.

In addition to the military support, Minister Sjoerd Sjoerdsma is in Kyiv to discuss €1.2 billion in non-military aid earmarked for humanitarian assistance, reconstruction, energy, and water infrastructure over the next three years. Jetten emphasized that the military support is 'rock solid' and urged other allies to increase their assistance as Russia intensifies attacks on civilian infrastructure and energy grids.

President Zelensky expressed gratitude for the support, noting its necessity for the upcoming winter months. The military aid will be funded from a larger €3 billion budget the Dutch cabinet has allocated for Ukraine this year.
