Zenica-Doboj Canton allocates 3.6 million KM to boost business competitiveness
The Zenica-Doboj Canton (ZDK) Ministry of Economy has distributed 3.6 million KM in incentives to 162 companies to strengthen regional business competitiveness. During a certificate ceremony, Prime Minister Nezir Pivić noted that the government has allocated over 40 million KM toward industrial zones, competitiveness, and trade fairs over the last three years. Pivić highlighted that ZDK is the only canton in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina to report growth in public revenues during the first half of the year.
In a separate initiative, the Ministry also allocated 116,942 KM to support 17 different fairs and cultural manifestations. These funds were distributed to the City of Zavidovići, the Municipality of Žepče, the Municipality of Usora, and various associations to promote local culture, tourism, and tradition through events such as the ‘Tradition and Future’ fair and various music and sports festivals.
Addressing economic concerns, Prime Minister Pivić warned that the closure of the Zenica Steelworks would have significant consequences for the national economy due to the integrated supply chain it supports. He emphasized the canton's commitment to maintaining its economic leadership through continued business support.
