Zenica-Doboj Canton approves budget rebalance and research strategy

The Zenica-Doboj Canton Government has approved a budget rebalance for 2026, increasing revenue-side projections to 777,688,281 KM. The expenditure side has also risen to 772,071,223 KM, with a planned surplus of 5,617,058 KM.

Key legislative actions include the adoption of a ten-year scientific research development strategy for the period 2024–2034. Additionally, the government approved amendments to the collective agreement for the higher education sector, resulting in a 10 percent salary increase for employees in that field.

To support local economic growth, approximately 7 million KM has been allocated toward private enterprises and entrepreneurs. This includes 6.2 million KM in direct incentives and 700,000 KM specifically for the development of entrepreneurial zones. Prime Minister Nezir Pivić noted that these measures aim to maintain the canton's leadership in industrial and economic production.
