Community health and animal welfare programs launch across Mexico and Argentina

Various municipalities across Mexico and Argentina are launching community-based health initiatives focused on preventative care and animal welfare.

In Mexico, several programs are underway. In Veracruz, federal deputy Zenyazen Escobar is leading a free dental health campaign across six municipalities in District 16. In Hermosillo, Sonora, a mobile clinic is providing medical consultations, diabetes detection, and vision exams in the Los Jardines neighborhood. Additionally, Chihuahua and Puebla are conducting pet sterilization and rabies vaccination drives to control animal populations and improve public health. In Juárez, a visual health fair is offering eye exams and affordable prescription glasses.

In Argentina, local governments are deploying mobile health units. In Tucumán, the ‘La Salud Más Cerca’ initiative provides comprehensive medical services, including maternal-child care and chronic disease management. In Buenos Aires, the ‘Más servicios en tu barrio’ program offers a wide range of services including vaccinations, ID processing, and social assistance in various neighborhoods. Furthermore, Córdoba is implementing the ‘Ver para Ser Libres’ program, which utilizes mobile units to provide ophthalmological exams and free glasses to children and adolescents in rural and peri-urban areas.
