Zepto raises Rs 8,010 crore in Indian IPO, promoters keep stake
Quick‑commerce unicorn Zepto has filed an updated draft red‑herring prospectus with SEBI to raise Rs 8,010 crore through a fresh issue of shares and an offer‑for‑sale (OFS) of up to 11.35 crore shares, bringing the total issue size to around Rs 11,000 crore. The IPO is slated for July.
Co‑founders Aadit Palicha and Kaivalya Vohra, together with their family trusts, will retain their 18.47 % holding and will not sell any shares. Nexus Ventures will be the largest selling shareholder in the OFS, offloading over 8.77 crore shares across two entities. Other sellers include Razor Ventures Zepto LLC, Contrary ZEP Holdings LLC, and trusts linked to Kaiser Foundation Hospitals.
For the fiscal year ending March 2026, Zepto reported revenue of Rs 22,624 crore, a 75 % increase year‑on‑year, while its net loss widened to Rs 5,905 crore. The platform processed 64 crore orders in the year, averaging over 17 lakh orders per day, and served 4.79 crore annual transacting users. It operates 1,139 dark‑store locations.
Proceeds from the offering are earmarked for expanding the dark‑store network, upgrading technology and cloud infrastructure, marketing, and potential inorganic growth.
