ZET introduces new pet travel rules for Zagreb public transport

ZET, the public transport provider in Zagreb, has outlined specific regulations for traveling with pets on trams and buses. The rules distinguish between small animals and larger dogs.

Small pets, such as cats and dogs measuring up to 30 centimeters, may travel free of charge provided they are kept in an appropriate transport box. Owners must ensure these animals do not disturb other passengers and that the container is securely placed within the vehicle.

For dogs taller than 30 centimeters, different requirements apply. These animals must wear a muzzle, be kept on a short leash, and their owners must purchase an additional ticket according to the current price list. Passengers with larger dogs are required to enter through the front doors and remain in the front section of the vehicle during the journey. Each passenger is permitted to bring only one pet and must carry the necessary documentation while remaining responsible for the animal's behavior and cleanliness.

Special exceptions are made for service dogs, including guide, rehabilitation, and therapy dogs, as well as puppies in training for these roles. These animals must wear official equipment to identify their status.
