Zagreb public transport ZET service updates

Overview

Zagreb’s public transport provider, ZET, is implementing several service updates. The provider is modernizing its fare collection system to allow contactless payments via bank cards and digital wallets, such as Apple Pay and Google Pay, across more than 700 vehicles. Full integration of this system is expected by summer 2027.

Additionally, ZET has established new regulations for traveling with pets. Small animals in transport boxes may travel free of charge, while dogs taller than 30 centimeters require a muzzle, a short leash, and an additional ticket. Passengers with larger dogs must use front doors and remain in the front section of the vehicle. Service dogs and puppies in training are exempt from certain restrictions provided they wear official identification.
