YPG-SDG to dissolve and integrate with Syrian government

As part of the ‘Terror-free Turkey’ process, Mahmut Berhudan, the Kobani official for the YPG-SDG, announced that the group will dissolve its autonomous administration and integrate with the Syrian army and government. Berhudan stated that 99 percent of the difficulties regarding military integration have been overcome and that the group has ‘buried its weapons,’ asserting they have no demand for a separate state.

In Turkey, the political landscape is reacting to a newly passed framework law. DEM Party Co-Chair Tuncer Bakırhan described the law as a starting point to move from armed conflict to a political and legal foundation, rather than a final solution to the Kurdish issue. While some political actors view the law as a historic success for resolving the issue, others remain skeptical of the process and its long-term implications.

Turkish Parliament Speaker Numan Kurtulmuş also addressed the process, emphasizing a future of brotherhood and coexistence among different ethnic groups in Turkey. He noted that the world is moving toward a multipolar system where Turkey plays a significant role.
