Özgür Özel rallies in Adana and Niğde, vows new party and anti‑government walk
CHP Group President Özgür Özel toured southeastern and central Anatolia, holding rallies in Adana’s Pozantı Tekir Yaylası and Çukurova districts and later visiting Niğde’s Ulukışla, Beyağıl village and Çiftlik town. He met residents, listened to farmers’ complaints about falling kiraz prices, soaring fertilizer costs and low wheat prices, and praised local service projects such as the new Halk Ekmek bakery, creches and student housing.
Özel accused the ruling authorities of “operations” aimed at CHP officials, citing the arrest of Çankaya mayor Hüseyin Can and alleged pressure on judges and prosecutors. He framed these actions as attempts to halt the “people’s power walk” and vowed they would not succeed.
He announced that the CHP will either restore its position or launch a new party, noting polls showing roughly 70 % support for a new party and that preparations—including signatures for an extraordinary congress—are under way. Özel reiterated that service‑oriented projects will continue unabated, positioning them as the path to electoral success.
