Prime Minister Takashi (高市早苗) announced a visit to the disaster‑affected area on 3 August and said the government will advance an ordinary allocation tax of 616 billion yen to support the municipalities. Chief Cabinet Secretary Kihara highlighted that the summer heat creates a "double disaster" with the earthquake, stressing measures to prevent disaster‑related deaths.

The administration also ordered the construction of temporary emergency housing in Uto City and Hikawa Town to begin on 3 August, and pledged to improve shelter conditions, water supply and medical support for evacuees staying in cars or homes.
