Zhivko Todorov nominated for all 2026 Mayor of the Year categories

Zhivko Todorov, the Mayor of Stara Zagora, has been nominated in all eight categories of the 2026 ‘Mayor of the Year’ national competition in Bulgaria. The nominations include two main categories, ‘Mayor of the Year’ and ‘Mayor of the Citizens’, alongside six specialized categories: Urban Environment, Health and Demographic Policy, Smart City, Tourism and Culture, Sport and Youth Policies, and Investment and Growth.

Stara Zagora competes in the large municipality group, which consists of cities with populations exceeding 50,000 residents. The competition includes mayors from all 265 Bulgarian municipalities. Voting is scheduled to take place online via the Kmetnagodinata.bg platform from September 14 to September 24, 2026. Winners will be announced on September 29, 2026.

Todorov previously received awards in the 2025 edition of the competition for the ‘Investment and Growth’ and ‘Smart City’ categories.
