Zhu Bei City expands bus services for student commute line

The Zhu Bei City Office has resumed its ‘Golden School Commute Line’ welfare policy to assist students commuting between cities. Following the start of the new school semester on August 31, the service recorded approximately 1,500 passenger trips during its first week.

To manage the surge in demand, the city office deployed extra vehicles. On the first day, an additional backup bus was added to the existing three-bus fleet (two on the West Line and one on the East Line) to accommodate the high volume of students. Daily ridership reached between 150 and 160 students for morning trips and 120 to 140 for afternoon trips, with Hsinchu High School students making up the majority of the passengers.

Zhu Bei Mayor Cheng Chao-fang visited the sites to monitor vehicle dispatching and gather feedback from students. While public transportation is not under the direct jurisdiction of the Zhu Bei City Office, Cheng stated that the team remains prepared to support the commuting needs of local students from Hsinchu High School, Hsinchu Commercial High School, and Chien Kung High School.
