Zimbabwe prepares to host 19th Sanganai/Hlanganani Tourism Expo in Masvingo
Zimbabwe is preparing to host the 19th Sanganai/Hlanganani/Dzimbahwe Tourism Expo in Masvingo from September 9 to 12, 2026. The event is part of the country's World Tourism Month celebrations, which this year follows the UN Tourism theme, ‘Digital Agenda and Artificial Intelligence to Redesign Tourism.’
Tourism and Hospitality Industry Minister Barbara Rwodzi identified the sector as a vital engine for economic transformation, investment, and community empowerment. The government aims to use tourism to drive inclusive growth and infrastructure development, specifically targeting benefits for local communities rather than concentrating them in traditional hubs.
The upcoming expo has already secured 392 exhibitors, representing 98% of the target and a 14.3% increase from the previous year. International buyer participation has also seen significant growth, with 133 confirmed buyers—a 49.4% increase from the previous edition. The event will be held at the Chimanimani Events and Conference Centre, leveraging Masvingo’s heritage assets, including the Great Zimbabwe National Monument.
