Zlín schoolboy found safe after brief disappearance in city centre
A young schoolboy went missing on Wednesday afternoon in a shopping centre in Zlín, Czech Republic. Police quickly deployed over a dozen patrol units, including traffic, foreign, canine and forensic teams, and sent an SMS alert to residents within three kilometres. Within minutes, members of the public reported spotting the child on a nearby street, leading officers to locate him unharmed about two kilometres from the original site. The boy explained that he had become lost after leaving a store and, unable to find his mother, walked in the opposite direction toward his home region.
The coordinated effort between law‑enforcement and alert citizens demonstrated effective community response, and the boy was safely returned to his family.
