Zoho updates Zoho Analytics with agentic AI and semantic layers
Zoho has announced a major update to its business intelligence platform, Zoho Analytics, introducing semantic and ontology layers designed to provide AI agents with business context. These layers allow AI to understand organizational structures, metrics, and data relationships without requiring a separate cloud data warehouse.
The platform’s conversational assistant, Ask Zia, has transitioned to a multi-agent architecture. It now utilizes six specialized sub-agents to handle tasks including data analysis, modeling, visualization, data preparation, coding, and SQL generation. Users can also build custom agents and connect them to various systems via the Model Context Protocol (MCP).
To expand connectivity, Zoho is adding 30 new data connectors to its existing portfolio of over 500, including integrations with SAP, PayPal, Adobe Commerce, and Amazon DocumentDB. The update also supports a headless BI model, allowing developers to embed analytics and agents into their own applications through white-labeled implementations while maintaining governance and security controls.
