Zoom introduces real-time spoken translation for video meetings

Zoom has added a Voice Translator feature that converts spoken words in a meeting into text via automatic speech recognition, translates the text with machine translation, and then synthesises the result into spoken audio using text‑to‑speech. The translated audio can be played in parallel with the original speaker’s voice or replace it, and users can select their preferred language individually. At launch, the feature supports English, Chinese, Spanish, French and Japanese, with additional languages such as German, Portuguese, Arabic and Italian slated for later rollout.

In the same announcement, Zoom also released updates to its AI‑powered sales tool, Zoom Revenue Accelerator (ZRA). New capabilities include real‑time deal guidance during calls, natural‑language querying of conversation data, and AI‑driven role‑play simulations for sales coaching. Both the translation and ZRA enhancements are available to Zoom’s enterprise customers.
