Zoraida Ávalos removed from Supreme Prosecutor position

The National Board of Justice (JNJ) has terminated the designation of Zoraida Ávalos Rivera as a Supreme Prosecutor in the First Supreme Criminal Prosecutor's Office. The decision follows the expiration of her term due to age limits.

Although the Public Ministry had previously granted an extension for her to remain in office until December 31, 2026, the JNJ declared the extension inadmissible via Resolution N° 562-2026-JNJ. Ávalos Rivera had reached the mandatory retirement age of 70 on June 14. Consequently, she is required to formally hand over her position in accordance with established legal directives.
