Zoran Marijan accused of exploiting Indian workers in Croatia
Zoran Marijan, a Zagreb-based entrepreneur and singer, is facing allegations of labor exploitation involving four Indian workers. The workers, who were formally employed by the company Linea Deana j. d. o. o., were reportedly diverted from their hospitality roles to perform private construction and renovation work for Marijan on the island of Vis and in Podslemen.
The workers, identified as Himanshu Himanshu, Mohit Mohit, Asok Kumar, and Yash Yash, claim they were subjected to inhumane living conditions, including staying in a leaking kitchen in Zagreb and a house without consistent electricity on Vis. One worker reported sharing a room with Marijan’s dying dog in Tribunj.
The victims allege that Marijan owes them approximately 10,000 euros in unpaid wages and has avoided communication by blocking their messages. A state inspection report has detailed various irregularities and violations related to Marijan’s business operations, following a history of labor and foreign employment infractions over the last five years.
