ZUS educational project offers university benefits for students
The Social Insurance Institution (ZUS) is conducting an educational project for high school students in Poland titled ‘Lessons with ZUS’. The initiative includes a cycle of four lessons covering social insurance, benefits, and the basics of starting a business and paying contributions.
Following the lessons, students can participate in the national knowledge olympiad, ‘It is Worth Knowing More About Social Insurance’. Schools have until October 23 to register participants. The competition offers significant academic incentives, as 56 universities across Poland provide laureates with admission guarantees, additional recruitment points, or reduced tuition fees.
Educators from the Lublin branch of ZUS noted that the sessions address diverse student inquiries, ranging from whether ZUS functions as a financial pyramid to specific questions regarding maternity benefits for religious sisters. The program aims to clarify the social contract and demonstrate how insurance provides support during illness or childbirth.
