ZUS organizes Senior Days to combat disinformation in Poland

The Social Insurance Institution (ZUS) has organized Senior Days across Poland, including events in Rzeszów and Dębica, to address the growing issue of disinformation and cybercrime among the elderly. Under the theme “Senior says: I CHECK. A conscious senior in a world of disinformation,” the initiative focuses on teaching seniors how to recognize fake news, identify manipulated information, and find reliable sources in digital and social media.

In addition to digital literacy, the forums provide practical information regarding social security benefits, indexation, and pension management. Participants also received guidance on health prevention, legal matters, and social services. These events are held in cooperation with local entities, including regional police, emergency medical services, and health funds, to promote safety and improve the quality of life for senior citizens.
