Zwift announces hardware updates and Watopia expansion

Zwift has announced several updates for its upcoming season, including hardware improvements, virtual world expansions, and new software features.

The Zwift Ride smart bike is receiving an update with a more compact frame suitable for riders between 146 and 198 cm. The new version includes adjustable cranks with five different lengths (160, 165, 170, 172.5, and 175 mm) and a redesigned seatpost for better adjustment.

In the virtual world of Watopia, an expansion is scheduled for late October, adding approximately 18 km of new roads inspired by California’s west coast and Catalina Island. This expansion will connect Jarvis to the Jungle and include circuits for criterium racing.

Other software and integration updates include ‘Watt Lock,’ a new ERG mode option arriving in October, and a new integration with WHOOP to use Recovery Score data for personalized training recommendations. Additionally, Zwift is introducing new racing formats, including time trials and criteriums, alongside a ‘Power Play’ campaign running from late November through December.
