Zwift platform and hardware updates

Zwift has announced a series of hardware, software, and virtual environment updates for its indoor cycling platform.

Hardware improvements center on the Zwift Ride smart bike, which is receiving a more compact frame designed to accommodate riders between 146 cm and 198 cm. The updated version features a redesigned seatpost and a new crankset system offering five different lengths: 160, 165, 170, 172.5, and 175 mm. Existing owners may be able to upgrade their current setups by purchasing the new adjustable cranks and seatpost separately.

Digital and virtual updates include an 18 km expansion of the Watopia environment, scheduled for late October, which will add new roads inspired by California’s west coast and Catalina Island. Software enhancements include a redesigned Zwift Companion app, the introduction of ‘Watt Lock’ for power management, and a new integration with WHOOP to provide training recommendations based on recovery data. Additionally, the platform will introduce new racing formats, such as time trials and criteriums, alongside a ‘Power Play’ campaign running from late November through December.
