ZXMoto seeks global dominance in motorbike market
ZXMoto, a Chinese motorbike manufacturer founded only two years ago, is seeking to expand globally following a victory at the Supersport World Championship in March. The company, led by Zhang Xue, has seen a surge in orders, prompting the Chongqing-based factory to operate 24 hours a day to meet demand.
ZXMoto’s flagship 820RR model competes with established brands like Ducati, Yamaha, and Honda by offering significantly lower prices—roughly 30 percent cheaper than foreign rivals. The company projects sales will reach 100,000 units this year, up from 25,000 in 2025, with a goal to double that figure by 2027.
Despite this growth, the company faces challenges including a shrinking domestic market in China, as consumers shift toward cars or electric bikes, as well as intense competition and tightening profit margins.
