2026 Buenos Aires visual arts salons

In late July 2026 the Province of Buenos Aires opened registration for the 2026 edition of the Salón Provincial de Artes Visuales Florencio Molina Campos, running from 27 July to 7 August. The competition, open to visual artists aged 18 or older residing in the province, offers three acquisition prizes awarded by the Instituto Cultural de la Provincia, the Honorable Cámara de Senadores, and the Honorable Cámara de Diputados, as well as three honorary mentions from the Museo Provincial de Bellas Artes Emilio Pettoruti, the Subsecretaría de Políticas Culturales, and the Dirección Provincial de Artes. Winning works will join the Museo Pettoruti collection. The salon maintains its policy of territorial representation and gender‑parity in jury and participant selection, in place since 2020.

A week later Cooperativa Obrera announced the call for its XIV Salón Anual de Pintura, Dibujo, Escultura y Grabado in Bahía Blanca, accepting submissions from 1 to 31 August. The jury, composed of Florencia Cabeza, Yaya Firpo and Omar Sirena, will award AR$3 million for first prize and AR$1.5 million for second, with the selected works exhibited from 19 October to 15 November 2026 at the SUM of Bahía Blanca Plaza Shopping. Participation remains free. Together, these initiatives illustrate a coordinated effort in 2026 to promote visual‑arts creation and recognition across the Buenos Aires region.
