2026 International Youth Sailing Championships

Overview

The 2026 youth sailing season featured major international championships across Europe.

In July, the ILCA 6 Youth European Championships and Open European Trophy concluded in Thessaloniki, Greece. After favorable wind conditions allowed for the completion of all scheduled races, Greek sailor Hermione Ghicas won the girls' European title. Other notable winners included Sofia Berteotti (Italy) for the Under-17 girls, Jiri Tomes (Czech Republic) for both the overall and Under-17 boys, and Erik Scheidt (Brazil) for the men's Open European Trophy.

In August, the focus shifted to Aarhus, Denmark, for the ILCA 4 Youth World Championships. Switzerland's Leo Gosling won the gold medal in the boys' fleet, following his previous success as a European champion, while Eleni Triantou of Greece was crowned world champion in the girls' division.
