The 2026 Mexican Baseball League (LMB) postseason has reached a decisive stage as the Olmecas de Tabasco have secured the Southern Zone title. After holding a 2-1 series lead over the Pericos de Puebla, the Olmecas completed their comeback by defeating Puebla 10-8 in the fifth game of the championship ~~series.~~ series at Estadio Hermanos Serdán. Although the Pericos initially led via solo home runs from Henry Ramos and Michael De la Cruz, the Olmecas staged a massive eight-run rally in the seventh inning. This comeback was fueled by hits from Marco Hernández and Seth Beer, alongside a two-run single by Calvin ~~Estrada.~~ Estrada and an RBI double from Óscar González. Oscar González also added an eighth-inning solo home run to extend the lead, and Jack Cushing secured the final out to clinch the victory. The championship win was marked by significant on-field tension. Multiple altercations occurred following incidents where players were hit by pitches, including involving Clayton Andrews, Herlis Rodríguez, José Martínez, Phillip Ervin, Francis Peguero, and Lorenzo Cedrola. These confrontations led to bench-clearing brawls that may result in up to 20 disciplinary penalties for the players involved. This win marks the first time in 33 years that the Olmecas de Tabasco have reached the league finals. They are now scheduled to face the Toros de Tijuana in the 2026 Serie del Rey. In the North Zone, the Sultanes de Monterrey and Toros de Tijuana previously remained in a competitive series, with Tijuana holding a 2-1 lead following an 11-inning victory.
