2026 Mexico City Grand Prix preparations

Overview

Preparations for the 2026 Mexico City Grand Prix, scheduled for late October to early November at the Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez, involve both ceremonial and economic planning. The jeweler TANE has confirmed the specifications for the official trophies, which will be crafted from .925 sterling silver with a 23-karat yellow gold vermeil coating and feature designs representing the wings of a golden eagle.

Economically, the event is projected to generate approximately 22.2 billion pesos, a 6.5% increase over 2025 estimates. Revenue is expected to be driven by ticket sales, hospitality, gastronomy, and transportation. To maintain FIA Grade 1 homologation, 202 million pesos are being invested in circuit maintenance and remodeling.

Looking toward the future, organizers are focused on contract renewals. With the current agreement set to expire in 2028, negotiations with Liberty Media are expected to begin between late 2026 and early 2027. Organizers expressed a desire to maintain an annual race schedule to support the logistics and workforce required for the event.
