The 2026 Skytrax World Airline Awards, described as the ‘Oscars of the aviation industry,’ were held on September 18, 2026, at the Langham Hotel in London. Based on a global passenger satisfaction survey involving over 24 million travelers conducted between September 2025 and August 2026, the ceremony recognized several leaders in the aviation sector. Singapore Airlines reclaimed the title of ‘World’s Best Airline,’ marking its sixth win and ending a two-year reign by Qatar Airways, which finished in second place. In addition to the top ranking, Singapore Airlines earned accolades for Best Airline in Asia, World’s Best Economy Class, and Best Economy Class Onboard Catering. The top five rankings were completed by Cathay Pacific in third, followed by All Nippon Airways and Turkish Airlines. Qatar Airways secured its 13th win for Best Business Class and received the inaugural award for Best Onboard Wi-Fi. Regional and category-specific honors included the oneworld alliance being named ‘World’s Best Airline Alliance’ for the fifth time. In the Australia/Pacific region, Qantas was recognized as the ‘Best Airline’ and for ‘Best Airline Staff,’ reaching 12th place globally. Air Astana was named the ‘Best Airline in Central Asia & CIS’ for the 15th consecutive year, while its subsidiary, FlyArystan, won ‘Best Low-Cost Airline’ in that region. Other notable distinctions included Turkish Airlines being named the best airline in Europe for the 11th time, ~~Qatar Airways winning for best business class and best onboard Wi-Fi, and~~ Lufthansa winning for Best First Class ~~Catering.
